The Manufacturing Styles Of A Guitar

To a beginner, most guitars tend to look more or less the same, other than the obvious difference between the electric guitars and acoustic ones. You might be forgiven for thinking that, other than this main difference, other features are more used for decoration or show than for any real effect. In fact, although the decoration may well look different, in many cases the materials used to make the guitar, and the way it is constructed, make a huge difference to the sound of the guitar. The voice or tone of a guitar depends largely on the fabrication of the instrument, what materials it is made from and what methods have been used to attach the various parts of a guitar together.
For example, guitars are made from wood, which is a commonly accepted fact even amongst those who know very little about guitars, but the actual type of wood used can make a dramatic difference. The Two Main Guitar Families, And Their Relatives

Although there are only two main categories of guitar, within each category there is a vast range if different styles, models and varieties to ensure that there is a guitar and a sound for every occasion and performance style. The two main categories are, of course, acoustic and electrical, but to define a guitar as either acoustic or electric is very bland, and tells us nothing about the actual type, the sound it produces, or its ease of performance.
Acoustic guitars are the ones most often used as a starting point for those new to learning the guitar as an instrument, and of the types of acoustic guitar available, the one most often used and recommended as the best one for beginners is the nylon string classical guitar. The strings of acoustic guitars can be made from either nylon or string, but since nylon tends to be much kinder on the fingers than steel, being thicker and looser, this is preferable. The Wide Range Of Styles Of Guitars And Performers

Music is a very individual expression, and for almost every musician and performer there is a style that is both defined by them, and created for them. A musician’s instrument is as much a part of that individual expression as the performer, and this is just as true, if not especially so, when it comes to the guitar. When you think of famous guitarists such as Jimmy Hendrix or Brian Welch, Eddie Van Halen, Fletcher Dragge, Angus Young or BB King, each of these is renowned for his own individual style and personal way of expressing himself through the music, but in addition to the fact that each of these performers has a very individual style which is all their own, each performer has used a style of guitar which is quite different from the others.
